Contact support
Write to support@alma.dev. To help us help you faster, tell us:
- your account's email;
- what you were doing, what you expected and what happened;
- your device and browser, or the app version (in Settings → About).
We reply in Portuguese or English. Don't include details of clients or other people in your email.
Report a problem or an answer
A problem with Lex (an error, a screen that won't open, a missing or out-of-date source): write to support@alma.dev with the details above.
A wrong, offensive or unlawful answer: write to support@alma.dev with the topic's title, the question and what is wrong with the answer. If you can, paste the answer into your email. Remember that answers are generated by artificial intelligence and can contain errors: always check the cited sources.
Unlawful content shared with you: write to legal@alma.dev, as explained in section 19 of the Terms of Use.
Frequently asked questions
Will Lex tell me what to do in my case?
That's not what it is for. Lex is a tool for legal research and legal information: it shows provisions, decisions and legal scholarship and explains them in general terms. It is not meant to analyse the specific case of the person using it or tell you what to do. For that, talk to a lawyer or solicitador.
Where do the texts come from?
From official sources, such as the Diário da República, the courts' case-law databases and the institutions of the European Union. Each document shows its source and official link. If a document is missing, use "Request a document" and paste the official link: once added, it is available to every Lex user.
How do I know an answer is right?
The quotes in each answer are compared automatically with the stored text of the sources, and those that are not found are flagged. The interpretation is not checked. Open the cited sources and check them before using an answer, especially in court filings.
Who can see my topics?
Only you, unless you share them or keep them in a space shared with other people. ALMA's staff don't read your topics, except at your request, for the security of the service or where the law requires it. Details in the Privacy Policy.
How much does it cost?
Lex is free at the moment. If there are paid plans, you will get all the information about prices and conditions beforehand.
I didn't get the confirmation email
Look in your spam folder. On Lex's screen you can ask for the link to be sent again. Lex's emails come from no-reply@lex.alma.dev.
I forgot my password
On the sign-in screen, choose "Forgot password?" and enter your email. We send you a link to choose a new one.
Privacy requests
To access, correct or delete your data, object to its processing or exercise another right, write to legal@alma.dev, preferably from your account's email. We reply within one month. If you are a person mentioned in Lex (in an official source or in something a user wrote), you can also write to the same address. Everything about your rights is in the Privacy Policy.
Delete your account
- Sign in to Lex, at lex.alma.dev or in the app.
- Open Settings and choose Sign-in & security.
- Under Your account, choose Delete account.
- Enter your password to confirm.
Your account, your topics, annotations and everything else you created in your personal Lex space are deleted at once. This can't be undone. If you want to keep your topics and annotations, save them as a .lex file first.
All that remains is: backups for up to 30 days; copies other people imported from what you sent them; shares you sent that were not declined, which the recipient can still import up to 180 days after they were sent; what you kept in spaces shared with other people, which stays in those spaces; error reports and the server's error log; the document requests you made; and records the law requires us to keep. How long each is kept is in section 10 of the Privacy Policy.
If you can't sign in, write to legal@alma.dev from your account's email and we will delete it within 30 days.
Complaints
If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can file a complaint in the electronic complaints book (Livro de Reclamações Eletrónico) or turn to a consumer alternative dispute resolution body (see section 16 of the Terms of Use and ALMA's legal information).
